Unseen 2 - Lifting the Veil in Kingley Vale

£10.00

Chapter 2 of the Unseen Zine series of images and words documenting atmospheric walks in the Sussex countryside in search of the sublime and spirit of place.

Issue 2 is all about Lifting the Veil. Rachel documents a misty solitary walk in Kingley Vale - Britain's first national nature reserve made up of a vast ancient yew grove, hills, valleys, Bronze Age barrows and Iron Age dwellings. Rachel also unpacks the meaning behind the concept of lifting the veil, touches on the life and thoughts of adventurer and mystic Helena P. Blavatsky and considers the folklore of yew trees.

Unseen is a photographic project centred around a search for the sublime and spirit of place - in both the land and self. It began as a sort of therapeutic travelogue of intuitive walks inspired by the Romantic reveries of Rousseau and Blake, folklore, film and literature. Each walk is a sensory experience taking in the historical, topographical, and psycho-spiritual ambiences with resulting feelings and revelations presented in Unseen - a collectable zine published periodically.

68 page perfect bound photo book with essays and black and white photographs printed on premium quality 170gsm silk paper with a heavier duty 350gsm weight cover.

100% recycled and recyclable
