"Martello Tower number sixty-two is next along the coast and this one is in the middle of a sprawling caravan park. Just beside the tower a motionless white horse stands beneath Victorian lamp posts in a garden that merges with the beach. A flag flies and there’s fishing nets and pots lying around. It’s a surreal sight, I’ve never seen a life size model horse in a garden before, it’s so bright and so white! The summer sun bounces brilliantly off its right flank and twinkles on the ripples of the ocean. I can see the next tower off in the distance to the west and walk on."
