"Pevensey Bay has been a vulnerable invasion spot for thousands of years and the coastline screams defence. As I walk down to the Bay there’s a sense that this place has been fearful for centuries. I imagine how terrifying seven hundred Norman ships, filled with soldiers and horses, sailing into this natural harbour must have been back in 1066."
